Pretty Places, Pretty meals @ Boufe Boutique Cafe

Hello readers!

I've finally come back to Singapore this past week and it has been a great time catching up with a few of my closest friends and relieving my craving taste buds for the clean and fresh local food here. Not to mention, I had an upset stomach after the street food in Jakarta just a few days before coming to Singapore.

Tucked away in a complex near Tanglin stands Boufe Boutique Cafe, a place I learnt from my junior Enabelle while asking about a location for my upcoming birthday ideas. To be very honest, I'm not quite sure that I will actually be celebrating it - the reason simply being as I don't have anyone to celebrate it with. All these years that have gone by without me here brought about many changes in friendships that I treasure deeply. People do change, and I can't stop them - I guess this is the start of adulthood where we just have to practice the habit of being by yourself and appreciate yourself even more.

It will be a much better idea if I had stayed in Jakarta all the way till my birthday is over, at least I'm able to celebrate it with my family but at the same time, the pressure of finding a job is haunting me. Sometimes I think about it day and night, even dawn when I saw a job listing and have not completed my application.

Anyways that is that for my personal life story, my food review starts here...

I went to the cafe together with my friend Elizabeth where she had the Triple B and I got my smoked salmon croissant. Just a brief side note, I was craving for smoked salmon like 2 or 3 weeks before in Jakarta but they only sell the frozen ones there, which will not taste as good if it was fresh. Just imagine how I savoured that croissant.

I will probably call this cafe a home for peculiar food because they do many unconventional cakes and drinks like what I had below, the Charcoal Lemonade, which does not taste like Lemonade but more of a mixture with what I believe was coconut water. After all, what matters is how appealing the colours make the food appear.

Lastly comes the highlight of the meal: The Cosmos Cake a.k.a paint your own galaxy, which I failed terribly - identified by the blue mousse cake at the very last picture in this post but saved it still with my composition skills ayeeeee :D

TIP* Pour the colour mixture unevenly and when you think the cake is beautiful enough, STAHHP. My cake became all blue because I thought I had to finish pouring the mixture.

Overall I think this is the most instagrammable food cafe I tried ever since I came back to Singapore and remember that they do give a free cake 3 days before or after your birthday. So if you are looking for a pretty cute and clean looking themed cafe and also have some fun in DIY cakes, you can find this at:
